Contemporary companion animal surgery has two very different aspects. The pictures were taken during surgical procedures in the Companion Animal Hospital of the University of Utrecht.

Atlas of small animal surgery was prepared for all veterinary surgeons and students and many of the procedures shown can be performed in modern animal hospitals. Even surgeons who do not undertake the more advanced procedures will find pleasure in the understanding provided by the illustrations and descriptions.
